Modern Architecture: The Holbrook House.
Located in Sao Paulo, Spain, and built in 2008, The Holbrook house is a study in urban living. As with most cities, the lot was tiny–19 feet by 78 feet–and surrounded by buildings on both sides. To make this lot work, the architects designed the property to be lighted and ventilated from the front and back via, transparent sliding doors that retract into the wall. This provides with a unique relationship to the outdoors.
The floorplan for this house is great. By using half levels, the architects have designated areas by function, while allowing the entire house to remain open, and transparent.
